ICT Mela 6.0: Showcasing Student Innovation, Creativity and Collaboration

Virinchi College successfully hosted ICT Mela 6.0 at Kumaripati, Lalitpur, bringing together students, technology enthusiasts, educators, and industry professionals for a dynamic celebration of innovation and digital creativity. The multi-day event transformed the campus into a vibrant hub of technology, showcasing the power of student-driven solutions and emerging tech trends.

The mela featured an impressive range of student-developed software projects, including Furever Home, Sajilo Saloon, Ghar Ko Swad, Learnovate, Sajha Krishi, and BookBridge. These applications addressed real-world challenges across sectors such as pet care, food technology, education, and agriculture—highlighting how software innovation can create meaningful social impact.

A major attraction of ICT Mela 6.0 was its diverse collection of IoT and robotics projects. Students demonstrated innovative solutions such as Medicine Dispenser, Smart Stick, Waste Segregator, Water Monitoring System, Health Monitoring System, Robotic Arm, Drawing Machine, Face Detection System, Anti-Theft Parking System, and a Fire Fighting Robot. The exhibition also revisited popular innovations from previous editions, including the Flood Warning System, Jarvis Bot, Pet Feeder, and Smart Home Systems, reflecting the evolution and continuity of innovation at Virinchi College.

Adding excitement and interactivity, the mela hosted a wide range of games, competitions, and tech challenges. The Robo Soccer competition saw enthusiastic participation from 10 teams, while the Robo Ramp Race (RRR) featured 14 competing teams, showcasing creativity and technical precision in robotics. Similarly, the UI/UX Design Competition attracted 44 students from 13 teams representing 8 different colleges, highlighting strong inter-college collaboration and innovative design thinking. Other engaging activities included AR Campus Hunt, Googler Challenge, Digital Escape Room, Blind Coding, and InnoTalk, blending entertainment with problem-solving and creativity.

Over the years, ICT Mela has grown beyond a traditional exhibition into a platform for innovation, inspiration, and industry connection. ICT Mela 6.0 reaffirmed Virinchi College’s commitment to nurturing future technologists by empowering students to turn ideas into reality and showcase their talents to a wider audience—making it a landmark event for Nepal’s growing tech community.
